Maybe he's just not the preacher you thought he was?
The 12 Disciples were hand picked and pre-ordained to carry out the callings they were given. If you call the 12 Disciples stupid it just seems to me the next step is calling Jesus stupid. And that isn't right in any definition of Christianity. Have you talked to the preacher. I think I would ask him!!
