Those are normal signs for being in heat. She will be in season for 21 days although some of the physical signs wont be apparent. You MUST keep her isolated from any male dog for the 21 days or may end up with a pregnant pooch. Once she is out of season please have her spayed. Her whole world has been turned upside down so it will take a while for her to understand the kitchen is her new bedtime place.Be patient and understanding.

The swollen nethers are normal. At this time, she may feel more 'needy' than usual, so her whining may be worse at the moment.

There's no easy way to make her stay in the kitchen. It's going to take perseverence and maybe some ear mufflers. Try leaving her in the day first - 5 mins to start with then 10, 15, etc, etc.

It's a shame that she's had to leave her mate. I'm not sure whether she's staying with you for good, or just until her season finishes? If she's there for good, you may have to face the fact that she would be better off with someone who has another dog. Dogs can be extremely sensitive - it's like us having our mate taken away for no reason - she's probably pining for him/her.

Tiring her out may be another good idea. Make sure she gets enough daily exercise. This will help her sleep through the night.

It is obvious that she is having seperation anxiety. Why dont you let her sleep in your room on the floor. put her in a cage in your room. Gradually move her away from the bed. then in thall and down the hall until she is in the kitchen. Otherwise you are going to get mad at her and that wont solve anything. Does she have anything that smells like her old family? maybe that would help.

As for her being in heat, that could be why she is whinning. She has that primal urge to procreate. Dogs whine when they are in heat. Her being swollen is also normal.

Yes, that is normal for being in heat... please consider getting her fixed to increase her lifespan and stop the risk of mamory cancer!!!!!!!( not to mention the spotting all over your house)
and as far as her bedtime behavior, consider
1) the newness of your home....
2) she was taken away from her friend and play mate and lifetime companion
now...consider how she feels... she is depressed and you are trying to make her sleep alone and in a strange area to her. (poor dog)
get a crate for her to sleep in and put it next to your bed. this will keep her off your bed yet give her nearness and the comfort she so desperately needs.
She needs to be reassured and it is going to take time and trying toisolate her is not her at night is NO HELP!!!

if this sounds cruel, I'm sorry but YOU chose to take this dog into your HOME and should do more to accomidate HER needs!!!!!

Well, my mother always said that we could have 2 ducks at Easter and not one for the very same reasons. LOL Actually there is something to that. You could take her to bed with you, you could see if she stops whining after she is accustomed to being alone, or you could get her some doggy companionship. What do you want to do?
You will have to wait through her season to see if she stops whining at that point also. You can't really judge from what she is doing now as she may be whining because her instincts are telling her it is time to find a mate.

ok, yes, being swollen during her heat cycle is normal.

Try getting a crate for her...a small one that she can turn around in, but not "run" around in. Put it in your bedroom, with maybe an old t-shirt you have worn. Keep in mind, its going to take a bit longer for her to get used to not sleeping in bed with you, as her previous owners did it for 7 years....hard habit to break. And JRTs can be very stubborn, but don't give in!! She'll only be upset for a couple of weeks, then, she'll get over it. I have a male JRT, and when I started crate training him, he hated it! But now he is fine with being in there at night, or whenever I leave.

in the experience that your Jack Russell isn't an mind-blowing specimen of the breed and/or she is a puppy you unquestionably could get them the two neutered. in the advise time e book your Jack Russell into kennels in the present day for 3 weeks until eventually her season is over. in the advise time get your Golden fastened NOW. in the experience that your Jack Russell is mated with the Golden, the domestic dogs will finally kill her, so which you will could have them aborted besides. The mating could irreparably harm her besides.
