In Microsoft Excel 2003,when i try to put the digit 3.68,it changes to 24800 or any other number.What should i do?Done everything........

I think it may be reading it as a date 3.68 = March 1968, which is about 24800 days since 1st January 1900.

No idea why though. Try setting the number format in the cell to Number or General

Its a format Issue.
I tried running some format changes to see if I could replicate the change from 3.68 to 24800 , but nothing.
As near as I can figure a formula is being applied to that cell.
Just format it to what you want, or use formula painter to change the format from another cell to fix the problem cell

Make sure the cell formatting specifies number and two or more digits and there is no formula changing that value.
