Don't listen to those putting down the bouncy castle. If that's what you and your fiancee like, then do it! You only get married once,(hopefully), so do what ever you want, it's your time.

How about having a nice picture of you both blown up and matted. Then have it on display with a marking pen for all your guests to sign their well wishes around the picture. It will make for a nice remembrance of the day. You can also do a time line with pictures of your selves, (ask your families for help,) starting as kids and going to your engagement. Leave a comment book for people to sign. This too will be fun to look at even years from now.
Another fun game I played once was, "how well do you know your fiancee?" You need some help with this one. A spokes person should come up with questions for each of you, then interview you each separately. Then your guests can guess which they think you will match your answers. (Kind of like the newlywed game that used to be on t.v.) You might ask questions like: "Where did you have your first kiss?" or "How many kids do you want?" Get creative!!

Have fun and enjoy. It all goes so fast, make it a perfect day.

Have some sheets of paper out and about somewhere. People can write down their favourite recipies that you can try as a couple when you're married. There could also be other sheets of paper where they write down tips on how to have a successful marriage. It would be fun for you two to look through later on or the next day. Does everyone going know each other? If not, a good game would be to create a sheet with 25 blocks. Each block has something written in it, and people at the party has to get someone to sign it that matches each block. But a person can't sign the same sheet twice. For example, one of the blocks can be "Who has ridden an elephant?", or "who has been to Graceland," or "who works in retail?". Just make sure the questions can be answered by more than one person at your party, and you'll actually find stuff out about people you never knew. I never knew my aunt had ridden an elephant until this game. It's also a great icebreaker.

Normally engagement parties DO NOT include children. This is the time when you and your fiance get to know each other side of the family and mingle. For the most part engagement parties have drinks (alcoholic) and that is not appropriate around children. However, if you just have to have children there, i would recommend having something like a family picnic and then having an adult only later on that night or on a different day. But you check online for ideas. It all depends on what you and your fiance like to do, figure that out and include everyone in.

You might want to rethink the bouncy castle if your guests like to drink. I was once at a wedding that featured a trampoline and keg stands. And while I do believe that projectile vomiting at 12 feet is worthy of a clip in Jackass 3 I don't know if thats what you're looking for at the announcement of your betrothal. It was a really good wedding though.

Hope this helps.
