Only one way to do it and do it right for you both.Be nice but honest.Say look, I thought me and you may have had something, but turns out I am not feeling you and therefore don't wish to pursue seeing you anymore.Say I think your a nice guy and I still want to be your friend if its possible but Other than that nothing else.Either he will understand and except or he will be a jerk.Either way its done and you can move on.If your polite and forward you don't have to feel bad, cause you gave him the truth.More than likely his feelings will be hurt no matter what but you cant protect those for everyone. The truth hurts sometimes but at least its commendable!

You need to tell him, just let him know it isn't working out, that you two have nothing in common and that he should start looking for someone who can relate to him better. If he really likes you it will always hurt no matter what you say, but better to tell him and let him move on the keep pretending and hurt him even more down the road.

Have a talk with your bother, maybe he can help you out better than we can on this question. (you had said,"He's my best friends brother.")
Then if that talk doesn't go so good- Call block him and you may have to come right out and say," Look I like you but only as a friend!"
Tell him, "You could even stand a chance of liking you even better if you would just stop bugging me! Further more DON'T CALL ME, I'll CALL YOU!"
See how that work for you. Good luck

well, unfortunately, there's probably no way to do this without hurting him - he's going to be hurt, your best bet is to mitigate that by being honest with him. Tell him that you like him as a friend, but just aren't feeling romantic toward him and stick to that.

You need to be honest with him! Let him know that you don't think the relationship isn't working.... There isn't an easy way to dump him especially if he really has feelings for you, but it's not fair to him for you to drag him along knowing that you don't wanna be with him...
Good Luck!

They say that breaking up is hard to do because it is.
The sooner you do it the sooner he will get over it.
Or you could become a total retch and get him to break up
with you.

I would just say: "Sorry, I really just don't like you. I thought that you were different than who you really are." If he is crushed, than just blame it on me. I hope that he will not be, though.
