It means that you're not good enough for them. It could mean that you're not her type. I knew this guy once who said that i was out of his league. He said it because he's a millionaire and i'm kind of on the poor side. But he was ugly and i am way more attractive then he is. It could mean all kinds of things but the main thing is that you're not good enough for her.

Some girls wont go for a guy if they know thier not good enouhg for them they cant handle a guy treating them well it;s sick but true they want t save you on the back shelf for when or if they grow up and stop dating guys that treat them like crap or that they think thier better then you and you cant handle them either way when a girl says that dont chase them ever!

The surface meaning is that they consider that you are well above their level in some kind of pecking order , based on the theory that people can only date successfully people at their level, whatever that means. It may mean she thinks you are too rich, too brainy or whatever. The theory is very dubious.The deeper meaning is possibly that she wants you to connect better with her in some way, to adjust to her culture, to tune into her feelings and aspirations.
