She's a small chihuahua puppy, around 2 lbs. She's now 4-months-old, and is the happiest thing in the world. Yesterday she ate some cooked shrimp my father accidently dropped in the backyard. I know because later that day there was vomit in her room. It was a bit hard and had shrimp tails sticking out of it. We figured she didn't like it and it came back, so we took her outside to eat some grass.
However, later that night she vomited again. It was a sticky liquid and kinda pale orange, the color of the shrimp she ate. We gave her some medicine and she was better. She ate this morning. But
around noon, she vomited again. It wasn't the food she ate. It was a sticky transparent liquid. We figure she still has some shrimp left, and won't stop until it's all gone.
My puppy is also really skinny. I'm afraid, because her mother is around 6 lbs and I can actually see a bit of her bone. They don't protrude much, but you can see them, even from far away.

Should I take her to the vet?

She's not miserable or anything. She plays and acts like she alway does, and she doesn't even notice that she just vomited a little.

Shrimp is not bad for her. Although I would not make a habit of giving shrimp to a dog. Believe it or not, dogs can have food allergies just like humans. Its possible she was allergic to it, and that's what caused the vomiting. Also if she is skinny, but eats fine, have a Vet check her out. She could possibly have a tape worm, which will cause her to be skinny, and occasionally vomit. Don't compare her size to her mom, as she is still just a puppy, and not fully grown like her mom. Also unlike some others have said, do not feed her canned dog food. Any vet will tell you canned dog food is the worst for dogs.

You need to take her to the vet. Maybe the shrimp tail tore the lining of her stomach or something like that and she isn't able to keep any food down. Take her to the vet.

Yes, I'd do that and right away. If your vet isn't able to see her take her to an E R vet a little more costly but worth it!

hey i have a chihuahua too..theyre great dogs...hyper..but great haha. Did you take him to the doctor????? Shrimp tales are sharp and could maybe injure him internally...It's a good sign he has an appetite but its not good he's puking everything he tries to eat. Take him to the doctor and they'll know exactly what to do.
