I have a parrot and he likes pretzel sticks... my sister told me that salt is bad for parrots .... is this true?

Salt isn't forbidden--but any kind of snack food that people enjoy should be given only as an occasional treat. A parrot can eat almost anything we can (except--never give them chocolate, avacados, green beans, sodas). Hope this helps...good luck to ya!

Yes. Salt is very bad for parrots. In a very small dose, I don't think it's going to do any major damage. Maybe give him/her a pretzel as a treat every once in a while, but make sure to rub off as much salt as you can.

Salt can be made if you give too much. Remember this is regarding the salt, anything in moderation is good too much excess of one thing is bad. However, never feed them chocolate or candy.

a salt lick is available at most pet shops for birds they also have them with seed pods including salt. sea salt is not like table salt. it is good for them. call the pet store and ask. or go to www.wikipedia.com
and ask for the gooid food for parrots, its all in there.
