when i movie out what is a good first dog to get?

It all depends. Are you active? Are you moving to an Apartment, house, condo? Please be more specific.

It depends....are you a small dog type person? or the medium type?
For small dogs....i recommend the chihuahua or a Miniature Pinscher. Both are compact and a great home security type dog. They are also lap dogs so they will stick with you when you are at home. A poodle is high maintenance W/ haircuts and such but a very good dog!
For medium dogs....i would go with a Corgi or a Shnauzer--great security dogs. The Shnauzer is high maintenance also with hair.
Now--if you think about it --great dogs of all breeds and (mixed breeds) are at your local animal shelters---just waiting for a great home. I highly recommend taking a dog that you get a great vibe with or feel a connection to--that is the best predicter of a "great" dog! Good Luck!

well it really depends on the type of person u arei would talk to the pet store workers and tell them ur situation they'll give u the rite advice for a first puppy

wel....where are u planning on moving? if ur active, then go for a breeed like a golden or such....but remember that it REALLLY REALLY depends on what ur lifestyle and time schedule is.....until u figure out how muuch time and effort ur willing to give.....it depends....

make sure that all your roommates agree that you can have a pet in the home.

a shih tzu. i have two. they are very laid back and cute and cuddly. they have really great personalities. good luck!
