ok im goin to try this again...i lost my windows media player...i upgrader to media 11 but i dont have original code for my pc..now i wanna go back to what i had originally but i cant get it back. how do i get something where i can see wmvs , mpegs ..etc...i installed real player but i cant view wmvs...someone help..thank you..i have an xp

You don't need the original code for your PC to install Windows Media Player, it automatically checks the product key of your current installation. The fact that you were blocked from installing WMP 11 means that you're using a PIRATED version of XP.
Go to http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=wmp to download Windows Media Player 10. That one doesn't have any WGA checks.

hi there.
you should recover it using the add/remove programs. it's inside the control panel.
winamp can also play wmv. if it doesn't try install vnc player
