When I click on it from Add/Remove Programs, a wizard-type window opens, and says "Please wait while Setup configures the components. This may take several minutes, depending on the components selected." The progress meter goes by in about 3 seconds, and then the wizard says "You have successfully completed the Windows Components Wizard" but it never shows me the list, or allows me to add any components

FWIW I'm trying to install IIS.

Probably ur os is going crazy or corrupted lackek of those added components..

Yes u need to use ur WinXP CD - the installer i'm pretty sure u know this thing.

If that options don't work just like the othe guy said, then re-installed it from the very start, again re-installed not re-format in order to installed the package for IIS bundle components.

Make sure and be careful to read those options. Like L, R, D options.

I don't understand your PC shorthand, but I suggest inasmuch as you are having difficulty with add/remove, why not try installing from the CD?

Insert the program's CD.
Open My Computer
double-click the drive of the CD
look for setup or install
or
Start
Run
cl browse
select D:

Please let me know if these do the job.
