Is it true that most women, who were molested as a child, and healed from it, grow up to be strong people? Because you know the saying, What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.....

Believe me to God if you manage to heal from it you definately becomes stronger. That saying is so true "What does not kill you will only make you stronger."
Believe that God can fix all things and won't give you more than what you can bear.
Learn to forgive no matter how bad the situation is, it will make you feel better and be a better person. You don't have to go directly to the person and say i forgive you but forgive them in your heart and pray about it. Just give it a try I've done it and it really works. When someone hurt you and you hold them to it you give them the authority to hold that power over you.
Do forgive them a take back the power.

I have been beaten as a child for my parents wanted to tame me as they would an animal.
I went through awful encounters in life, being raped by men as I was just looking for a bit of affection. I look strong and cheerful, and have been married for over 30 years. But I can go easily into bouts of depression if I put into my mind I am no longer loved.
This is a hassle at times for the people around me who don't understand my reaction.
I have met someone at last who understand me and is very careful not to hurt me by any means. He too had a very bad childhood and knows how I feel. Unfortunately it is on the web we meet and he lives miles away from me.
The scares may be hidden from others but are still here ready to come up to the surface on any occasion.

People who go through trama deal with it in different ways. Some become stronger and yet still caring, feeling people...some become jaded and unfeeling and aren't really strong but hide behind a wall they've built that gives others the impression of strength and solidity...for others it wrecks them for life and they are always mistrusting, shy, timid people who don't ever manage to get beyond their trama and it haunts them forever.

The saying that you quote is meant to help people overcome things in their lives, it isn't really a statement based on truth or majority. Many people live through horrors but the horrors devastate them, versus giving them strength.

Depends on the individual.

Hm, i think that would have to depend on the individual. It depends how you take the situation. i think that if you grew up and were healed from it, then yes, you would probably be a much stronger person. You may be a little more open minded to human beings, their personalities and those types of situations.

Sure...every experience we have makes us stronger, good or bad, but to be able to heal through having your innocence stolen from you as a child certainly would make a woman stronger.

Believe me...I know.

Anyone who goes through something like that has only one of two options. Grow up and be strong and let no one make a victim of you again, or remain the victim your entire life.

I can't speak for all, each person deals with it differently, but I can speak for myself, and I am a very strong person. I learned at a very young age of 5 that it was me and me only who was going to take care of me. Therefore yes I am strong and I am also a survivor.

I do think it's true. Surviving molestation causes you to carry a lot of extra baggage that other people do have to worry about, and that's hard, you just have to make the choice not to let it ruin your life.

I believe it not only makes you stronger, but more aware. Not wanting the same thing to happen to your children.

It doesn't solely take something like that to make a woman strong.
