Depends on a lot of factors. Different drugs stay in the system for different lengths of time. Marijuana can be detected for months. Alcohol for a few hours. How much you have taken plays a role (you take more, there is more to get out of you). How healthy your liver and kidneys are also factor in.

Depends on the medication. The lingering effect is called the "half-life". The longer you took it, the longer it will take to get out of your system. Drink lots of liquids (Incl. water) and figure 2 or 3 days.
