He used food coloring on the white parts, but I can't get it off ... I gave her baths, and I have suspicions he may have used something more permanent. The eyeliner does look good, but not natural.

Anyone have any ideas how to get this stuff off? It's been almost a week now!

The cat is not sick at all, the food coloring is safe.

I have a feeling it will have to wear off. Cats do shed you know.
Why not dye his hair when he's asleep?
Paint his toenails, too.
And don't forget to give him some rouge.
But get out of there before he wakes up.
Have fun!

Well--I think he may have gone a little over-board here, but the food coloring is not going to hurt her. PLUS, this will gradually lighten during her grooming rituals. It will take a little time, as food coloring is very permanent and almost impossible to remove, but it will lighten and finally go away, and this may take over 6 months. A cats saliva is a very powerful "stain remover", too. Just a little word of wisdom: Why not color YOUR HUBBY pink for next Valentines day and leave the cat alone??

The dye will just have to wear off, just as it does when you get food coloring on your hands. As for the eyeliner, I would try a gentle non- irritating to the eyes, remover, I am sure it was cute, and no harm was intended, but you don't know how irritating that could be to your poor cat's eyes. Tell your Hubby to just buy you a stuffed animal next time!!! Believe it or not, I HAVE had a similar experience! !! LOL!! I have a Bichon Frise dog (pure White) and a few years ago, someone dyed her Flourescent Orange for Halloween (as a surprise?!? for me) I was definately surprised, and it was cute, but she still had traces of orange on her for Christmas!! It just had to grow out, so for everyone out there, PLEASE don't put your poor pets through this- a few minutes of entertainment for you is not worth all they are subjected to- with the dying process, and the aftermath. They have done nothing mean to you, and definately don't deserve to be tortured for your enjoyment. ,

Your husband is a moron, if that was all he could come up with for v-day then he needs to have his head examined. In case you weren't aware animals have skin, pores & tissue that can get dammaged by stupid and childish ideas like your husbands. If my man had done anything cruel like that i'd be far to ashamed to admit it to anyone but apparently it doesn't seem to bother you because "food coloring is safe".
I hope when you finally have the sence to take the poor animal to the vet (like you should have a week ago!) the vet alerts the ASPCA that you and hubby aren't capable of taking care of an animal properly!

It just takes time. Anytime you color an animal it takes time for the coloring to come out. The eyeliner probably dyed the hair as well since cat hair is very porous. You could always go to the groomer and see if they could try something to remove it or color your cat back to a more natural color.

What a sad thing to do wonder how your boyfriend would feel if say the green giant would do the same to him find a new boyfriend would be my advice I would have been furious. People may do things to themselves by choice not because someone is holding them down to do it I am sure your pet especially a cat sat there willing to do it

My cat showed up one night covered in a blue dye of some sort. I bathed him, but I could not get the blue out of his fur.

I had little blue hair balls coughed up all over my carpet for about two weeks! He had a blue tongue, but he lived!!

for the eye liner get some Vaseline\petroleum jelly and rub some on the eyes. Then gently rub it off. Believe me it works every time.
but for the dye it will not come off. All you can do is brush her every day to get the loose hair out. She with shed it out eventually.
but it may take a while so.... I HOPE YOU LIKE PINK ( sorry i just had to say it ;} )
good luck with your pink kitty

food coloring will wear off. kitty will wash it off self.
