This is what your doctor has prescribed for you, based on your family and personal history, your problems and all of the exams and tests that s/he has run. This decision was made by weighing the potential benefits to you of each med against the potential risks to you of each med. None of these prescriptions was written in isolation from all of the above, nor in isolation for each of the other meds and supplements, etc that you are taking.

Further, if you were prescribed any combination that might be dangerous, your pharmacist is obligated to contact your doctor to discuss it, and will not fill it or fill a substitute, as ordered by your doctor, without that clarification.

So, it's only too many meds if you doctor says so. You have to make a point of telling each of your doctors, and your pharmacist, about everything that you are taking, including any and all supplements, herbals, naturopathics, homeopathics or OTC. You also need to let them know about some types of food preferences. That's because there are some foods, such as grapefruit that can seriously interfere with or exacerbate the effects of some meds. Keep a written list that you give to every one of your doctors, and keep an up-date-date list in your wallet. Make sure as well that your emergency contacts have up-to-date copies of that list.

With all of that in mind, there is no such thing as too many pills.

If you have doubts about your medications talk to another medical doctor. Any opinions you recieve in this forum are worth exactly what you paid for them -- nothing! Seriously, get a second professional opinion and put your mind at ease.

Klonopin (aka, clonazepan) is an anticonvulsant mostly used to control epileptic seizures. Not sure if spelling it with a "c" means it's a different drug. Couldn't find the others in my ancient PDR.

I also have suffered a serious brain injury, due to a auto accident in 1965. I've been an epileptic ever since and manage just fine because I take my medicines everyday, exactly as my doctor prescribes them. I once had a seizure because I listened to an idiot friend and quit my meds. Big mistake -- cost me my driver's license for five years. (Lost my job, my house, and my girlfriend.)

I'd advise that you keep your epilepsy a deep dark family secret. There's a huge amount of ignorant prejudice out there and too many thoughtless people boost their own egos by destroying other people's lives.

i take 6 mg of klonopin a day, at first i was zombie-fied.......it seems to be getting better now (tho 15 mgs sounds like a lot)

"Adults: The initial dose for adults should not exceed 1.5 mg/day divided into three doses. Dosage may be increased in increments of 0.5 to 1 mg every three days until seizures are adequately controlled or until side effects preclude any further increase. Maintenance dosage must be individualized for each patient depending upon response. Maximum recommended daily dose is 20 mg.

The use of multiple anticonvulsants may recruit in an increase of depressant adverse effects. This should be considered before adding Klonopin to an existing anticonvulsant regimen."

.....lexapro, i know nothing of.... sorry about your accident.
