Well I've done exactly that. I've got Norton on my laptop, but got so fed up with it that I downloaded AVG free, installed it, no problems whatsoever. Norton is still installed, but I don't use it. And the AVG is giving me all the protection I could ask for.

Norton can be a problem and will not easily uninstall.

Don't just delete it - read about uninstalling on Norton web forums first. It is a complicated process but achieveable.

I use to have Norton now have AVG.

I think I installed AVG grisoft before I did Norton uninstall.

If you can put avg onto a disk first then go to semantec website download Norton removal tool disconnect fro Internet run the tool restart computer and load avg then go to avg website to look for up dates.

funny you should ask this,I had to update my sons avg on saturday,it does give you full protection,and yes you have to delete norton 1st,the I T adviser added supa add blocker and it slowed the computer right down it had to be deleted,hope this helps.
