It should be the responsibility of the believers, the burden of proof should rest squarely on them since they have absolutely no evidence for their claims and yet they use their myths and fairtales to try and re-write history and force their beliefs on others through government policy.

If they are going to try and prevent gay marriage, ban stem cell research (by far the most promising aspect of medicine and biology today), not allow the grand canyon park officials to say how old they estimate the canyon to be, try to force nonsense like creationism and prayer into our schools, then they'd better have damn good evidence to support their ridiculous claims!

You can say people can believe whatever they want, but there should be no legal or policy changes without solid proof.

Time will prove this either way. The very fact that we can calculate our existence and that of others in the universe just by our own proof that we exist suggests an equal or greater possibility of higher deities or life forms capable of performing acts of a God just from the knowledge of progressive sciences.

Im not sure if anyone is understanding this as i think it was meant when asked. Is it the responsibility of believers to provide evidence for god for debate or is it the responsibility of non-believers to provide evidence that god does not exist for debate. Personally I think it is rediculous to say that athiests would need to provide evidence god does not exist, because that would be like saying that you must provide evidence that the teenage mutant ninja turtles DONT live in the sewers in New York if you believe they do not. It has always been the responsibility of those pushing ideas to support those, not the responsibilty of refuters to prove them wrong. Personally I believe the burdon is on creationists to provide evidence for a god, of which none can.

It is up to each and every individual to do the search for themselves. This is an issue with eternal ramifications, a smart person would thoroughly search out the answer. Relying on what other people tell you, or deciding based on the actions of other human beings, is just irresponsible and in all reality, stupid. I think that most religions have some sort of afterlife idea that has qualifiers. I believe that it is the ultimate mistake to not look into this issue for yourself. Eternity is a long time, don't you want to base your decision on actual facts, not hearsay?

Hmm... I think this is one that needs a Congressional investigation, since the White House has insisted that we spend tax-payer dollars on the Faith-Based Initiatives. I'd love to watch those hearings.

The demonstrations alone would be worth the price of admission.

Of course, legal rules of evidence must apply.

Well, it would be that god's respnsibility would it not? Choose to believe or not, it is not possible for us to prove or disprove any god's existence. If a god or goddess wants and needs the gratification of worship, then he/she should make himself/herself known to the desired audience.

I would say it's God's responsibility to prove He exists, if He does.

God has already proven that He exists. Whether someone accepts that or not is a different matter.

Why would someone be responsible for that - Believing or not believing is a personal choice.
