Both are a matter of faith. Both are supernatural. Both are felt and rarely seen. So is it hypocritical to choose to believe in God but not in Ghosts? Or is it delusional? Or does the weakness of ones soul battered by the wear and tear of living seek the soothing balm of religious faith but not the corrosive anxiety of ghouls and spirits.

God may or may not be real, and ghosts may or may not be real, but you may have valid reasons for believing in one and not the other. When it comes to being hypocritical, it doesn't matter if you are being delusional or not. BELIEVING in something alone doesn't make you hypocritical.

PRETENDING TO BELIEVE in something you really don't believe in, or pretending to not believe in something you really do believe in could be hypocritical.

Here is a quote from Wikipedia's hypocrisy page "Hypocrisy is the act of pretending or claiming to have beliefs, feelings, morals or virtues that one does not truly possess or practice. A person engaged in hypocrisy is called a hypocrite."

It's a bit confusing the way you have stated this. First of all, ghosts are not supernatural but natural phenomena. They are the remaining parts of the energy of the aura and the ectoplasm of people that have died fast. They consist of electomagnetic (EM) energy and since EM can be explained by science we should not place them in the supernatural. However the scientific argument about the ghosts relies on the fact whether they are visble or not. From the explanation above it is evident that ghosts are not souls or spirits. Souls and spirits belong to the supernatural. The way to approach them and understand their existence is through philosophy and theology. Science can not identify their existence. Souls and spirits are directly ascociated with the faith in God. Whether you believe in the existence of ghosts is a matter of personal belief and this should not be ascociated with the belief in God.

Do you think so? Yes or No is your take. Both God and Ghosts are within ourselves based on our frame of mind which in turn is dependent on our Acts in day to day life. So you can feel like God or Ghost - why talk about after death. Everything as you rightly said is a matter of faith (or mind)

precisely, the foremost argument for atheists is that there is not any scientific data for God or gods. there are various diverse atheists who've many diverse ideals. There are atheistic Wiccans. Buddhists are atheists by ability of default, nevertheless i'm advantageous there are some Buddhists that have self assurance in a god/gods. some atheists have self assurance in ghosts, some do no longer. And atheists have diverse motives for no longer believing in a god/gods. additionally, many human beings have own motives for believing in ghosts, only as many Christians have own motives for believing in God. I truthfully have by no ability felt God or seen Him or heard Him or something, as a result i don't have self assurance in Him. i do no longer do this entire "blind faith" ingredient, the two. people who have self assurance in ghosts many times experience that way because of the fact they have seen some thing unexplainable, which includes a flash of sunshine, a human-finding shadow, felt their mattress initiate shaking for no reason, and so on. I truthfully have by no ability had such an adventure, so i don't have self assurance in ghosts myself--yet i do no longer think of that different all people is loopy for believing so.

I believe in God but not ghosts. The only ghost I believe in is the Holy Ghost/Spirit. I don't believe in trapped souls or anything like that. They either go up or down when they die.

There will be a friend and another a foe.
When an option is given to you to choose whom to believe and whom to discard, what will you do?
Some times the ghosts also will show some attractive baits to attract you to their side, only to satisfy their own hunger.
The god/religion may not show such attractions, but, if you hear him, shows a good way to protect yourself from such calamities.
It is not any delusion or hypocrisy to believe your well-wisher sir!

I suppose it would depend. In my personal believe it is not because I believe when we die we are in a deep sleep until judgement day were we either go to heaven or hell, therefore I do not believe in ghosts. You say both are rarely seen, I see Him just not in the way you think

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?
