Another way is to run it through a camcorder w/ a firewire (camcorder would most likely be mini-dv or hard drive) if you have access to someone else's or if you own one.

Thats what I do to run anything analogue (camcorders, vcrs, etc) to my computer. You plut the a/v cord from the analogue device into the 'a/v in' on your firewire camcorder. Then from there into your computer. Usually you have to go onto the firewire camcorder and change the input.

it aint as eay as get video card. You have to turn the analogue into digital so the pc will understand what you are sending to it.if you have an s-video port on your cam you can get a device, think its called firewire convertor(or similar) you plug your cam in one side , pc into the other side and it converts for you , not cheap. £80-£90

There are gadgets that take video output and convert it to digital enter for the computing device. One such device is the Diamond severe PCTV receiver. You plug in RCA cable to it out of your VCA or cam corder. It plugs into the computing device's USB port. it is going to checklist that and its report would be burned to DVD completely. It alo purposes as a digital television receiver. I used one on my Vista laptop. the approach is bulky, yet works very nicely with something that outputs a television sign.

If you have a DVD recorder use it to make a DVD. If you have a TV tuner in you PC use it to make MPEG videos. A TV tuner with hardware MPEG encoding is a better buy then a dedicated capture card.
