Excellent question. He was resurrected because He was without sin. His death was the price for mankind to be reunited with God. His resurrection was is a foreshadow of what awaits those who believe in Him.

Jesus knew no sin. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death. We each only have one life. We all have sinned, so we all deserve to die. If we all died, no one would be left to worship God. So Jesus came and died in our place. But, because he knew no sin, death could not hold him. He then rose again on the third day to prove he is God. If he did not rise again, why should we serve him and not Mohammed or Buddah? They are both dead as well, but my Lord Jesus Christ rose again and is still alive!

Jesus was resurrected as a display of the power that he now has over death. Since death couldn't hold him, death will, in turn, have no affect upon those who believe and obey his word. When the bible spoke of the wages of sin is death, it spoke of spiritual death, which is separation from God. When one commits sin, he defies God's commandments and becomes separated from God because God does not condone any wrongdoing in his presence.
Jesus, having never sinned once in his life, became the sacrificial Lamb of God for our sins, in order to completely wipe out our sins and redeem us back to God. Mankind couldn't pay for their own sins and would've surely suffered eternal damnation if not for the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, which one simulates through baptism and is placed into Christ after believing the gospel, repenting of their sins, and confessing Christ to be the Son of God (Galatians 3:27).

Jesus is the Only One Who could pay our debt, because He is the Only One Who has not sinned. Since He is God, come "in the flesh", it is impossible for Him to sin.
Humanity was created to be immortal, but gave up that privilege when sin entered the world. "The wages of sin is death"...now, notice the next bit "but the GIFT OF GOD is eternal life"...
That life is in Jesus, Who bought and paid for it with His death...which is the main reason God came to earth as a Man in the first place.
I hope this helps.

Jesus had no sin Himself, so He rose again. Now that He died, He can put as many sins on Himself as He wants and He doesn't have to die again.

Death of the soul, not death of the body.
Besides, Jesus Christ was free of sin.

Because he took upon himself our sins, thus he died, and since he was God, he was resurrected.
