The Bible states that anyone who possesses the Holy Spirit is holy. The Bible speaks of a holy man of God, holy ones, a holy people, a holy nation, and holy brothers.
That is why Mary is blessed (holy). The angel Gabriel called her, "Full of grace" and, "The Lord is with you."
"His Holiness" is too small a title for God.
"His Holiness" is a title of respect for the Pope Benedict XVI, who was selected by the Holy Spirit to be the direct successor of the first Pope, Simon Peter.
With love in Christ.

I agree that it is innapropriate. Catholics focus on tradition at the cost of the Word. God says in His Word, "Be holy for I am holy." We are made Holy not by what we have done but by what He has done. Anyone who says that the Pope is closer is further from the Word. We all have equal access to God. The pope is a puppet of people who want to go back to the slavery of tradition rather than the freedom of the Word.

His Holiness Vijay! everything in this world is indeed Holy. In fact given an option I rather address everyone as His/her Holiness. While appreciating a fellow human being, you are in fact appreciating or recognising the creator (analogy When you appreciate the painting, Mona Lisa painting in reality you are appreciating the skills and abilities of the creator, Leonardo De, not the canvas, paint or the brush that was used). Similarly when you respect of appreciate a fellow human being, you are appreciating and recognizing God (because every creation in this world is HIS handiwork.

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most merciful.
Only God almighty is the the Highest of High, The Holiest of
The Holy, The greatest of the Great, the purest of the pure,
all praise is only due to God almighty.
No Human being has the right to associate Himself with
Praises and attributes only meant for God almighty. Humans
begin elevating people whom they follow with such praise
worthy Names, and titles and then give them Godly status and Finally begin to worship then. Worst still when these God men begin to believe that indeed they are what the people want them to be like the Pope who is called his holiness, and H.H sri. sri Ravi shankar.
The real prophets of God never liked people to refer to them
as Holy or Great etc.Take the example of Jesus [ peace be
upon him ] .Mathew, 19;16-17,- and behold one came and
said unto him'' Good master, what good thing shall i do, that
i may have eternal life, and he said unto him'' WHY CALLEST
THOU ME GOOD ? there is none Good but one, that is God''
You can see from this statement that even Jesus whom the
christians believe to be a God or son of God does not even
attribute goodness to himself,So it is very Clear that the
Christians do not follow the teachinge of Jesus { peace be on
Him ]

you have a good point, but someone can be holy without being God. Being holy just means that you live a life according to God

Agreed. Jesus commanded that his followers not address one another by flattering titles like "father," "leader," and "Rabbi." Even the title "Reverend" is a title that belongs to God. At Ps. 111:9, it says: "...holy and reverend is His (God's) name. In spite of Bible warnings, some people insist on calling themselves "father." Can they truly be called Christian if they ignore what Jesus said?

Catholics believe that the pope is the closest to God that any human being can be. The pope is elected by his own.
