How can Christians prove THEIR God exists?

Question

So lets say someone proves the universe had a creator.
How do Christians know it's their God? After all there are
plenty of other deities to choose from. Even if God is proven
that dosen't mean it's the Christian God.
I want solid proof that the Christian God exists.

I guess another question would be why
do Christians assume their God is the
only one?

There isn't any proof. That's why its a FAITH based religion. (thats also why I don't follow it)...

Most people who call themselves Christians don't know WHAT God's plan is, so their idea of who God is does Him a great injustice. He does not burn people in hell, take babies from their families to live with him in heaven, or bless wars! Perhaps if you were better acquainted with Jehovah you would conclude more readily that He certainly is our Creator, whether you chose to worship him or not.

We didn't come with a stamp on our heel, so I'm not sure what proof you're looking for, but here are the avenues I've studied that make it impossible for me to ignore God: archaeological proof showing that people or places existed (e.g., Nabonidus Chronicle- proof Babylonian kings playing a part in biblical history existed); scientific evidence (e.g., Ecclesiastes 1:7 describes the water cycle, long before this was understood in the scientific community); prophecy (2 Timothy 3:1-5 describes social decline we see today); and the fact that God's advice on living is timeless cannot be undervalued.

There are many demonstrations and proofs.One is the universal testimony of witnesses. By that I mean that far flung all over the world people have had the same experience and testimony. You will find that Africans, South Americans, Asians, Europeans, whatever, with no prior experience have witnessed to the same exact truth, after receiving the blessing of God and accepting Jesus, and these things are written in scripture that they should happen. Also there is the historical exeperience of ancient people who have exeprienced the new birth as well. In addition there are the prophecies of a leader of the gentiles coming from the Jews before it happened and many gentiles nearly half the world or more coming to worship the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, and in essence become children of Abraham by faith.

If you are looking for "solid proof that the Christian God exists," I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. It has been shown to be impossible to prove the existence of any god, so the idea that this particular Christian God would be as difficult to verify.

On the other hand, it is also impossible to prove the non-existence of God, so those who insist upon verification of this idea are also apt to be let down.

This is why I try to keep an open mind about such things, and try to operate on the assumption that we poor benighted humans are all doing the best we can.

The relationship between God and His people is personal and one-on-one... I know for an absolute fact that God exists... I am of The True Christian Faith and ever one who is of The Faith knows God exists...absolutly.... But... I can not "prove it" to you... nore can anyone else of The Faith... The proof you need can only come from God... if He wants you to have it He will let you know... you canstill deny Him of course... but that is your loss... When you finaly come to know that you need God... if you ever do... He will be there waiting for you to come to Him...

All who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation and will become part of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. Those are the ones of The True Christian Faith. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven.

It is impossible to prove the non-existence of something, only its existence. Proof doesn't exist for any god. Only evidence, and very poor evidence at that.

There is no evidence that the Christian god exists, other than the Bible, which is a very unreliable and self-contradictory selection of stories and writings that is around 2000 years old in its present form.

Some people accept that the Bible is the word of God, but the only basis for doing this is that they would like it to be so. So they *believe* it is. That's fine, and probably lovely for them, but it isn't proof and it isn't evidence.

It sounds to me like you're a rationalist, which means you won't be at home in any religion. Try reading Richard Dawkins's 'The God Delusion' - he agrees with you.

What makes you think God is a christian God has no set religion, so it wouldn't matter anyway. Thats the same as asking if the catholic God is Cathiolic Can you prove the catholic God exist? Or the muslim God, prodesent god,lutheran god,mormon god,and all lthe other religious God's. Which one do you fall under? Oh we must not forget the atheist's god. Does there exist also?

I asked a question today that you replied to, you called me "ignorant". How sad it is that you are the one blinded from the truth. However, I see that you keep asking questions about this same topic so either you are posting questions to instigate, harass, or you are in search of something else..... maybe you are asking these questions so that you will get a reply that will destroy the wall of "self", and open you eyes to the TRUTH, that you too may have life!! That was proven on Mt. Carmel. When Elijah prayed to the christian God and the Baal worshipers prayed to their gods. The christian God responded with fire while Baal remained silent and let all 400 of his prophets get slaughtered.

You don't write like you're dense, so I must assume you just want to stir up some shat. Do you harass Muslims and Buddhists, too, or do ya just pick on the guys who turn the other cheek? Quit whining, get a life, and quit distracting yourself from being a productive person.

And I don't think it matters about WHO's God it is, because you can't own God.... Just try to be a good person...
