I am not aware of a medication called promazine. I take Effexzor for my anxiety, which at one time in my life mad me a fearful and nervous wreck.
Since I am not a trained clinician, I'd suggest you'd go to be assessed for your condition by a mental health clinician. or psychiatrist, since they are M.D.s and also are well informed in pharmacology.
I am glad that after years of being afraid and ashamed of having generalized anxiety disorder, I thought finally more for my self's
better health and comfort . . and finally relented to go seek help.
I am So FAR BETTER, now!

You need to see a psychiatrist. There are perfectly safe medications that relieve anxiety entirely. You don't deserve and don't have to live like this. What they gave you in the er was probably pretty strong. A normal antianxiety medication won't make you tired it just make you feel like normal without any anxiety. I speak from experience. I have an anxiety disorder and since starting medication I have been fine and no longer suffer with anxiety. Please get help! I can tell you that anxiety can be disabling and cause you to stay awake at night unable to sleep.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

Promazine is another of those old tranquilisers (similar to chlorpormazine) but with less side effects. It was usually given to the elderly for this reason. It is rarely used in the UK now as much better drugs have been introduced. I think you should follow your doc's advice where ever possable but really you would be much better off using physical excersise to help you sleep naturally.

GET OFF OF THE DRUGS. They are not good for you, and just make things worse. Put your trust and faith in God, and you will be set free!
