I like him, but I'm not sure if I want to ask him out. I'm not even sure if I really like him. I need advice!!!

try the following things in order to make his feelings come out of his heart.
1)ask his best friend
2)flirt with his best friend and see his reaction
3)leave a " I LOVE U" note in his bag or locker
4)stare into his eyes and pass a smile and study his face
5)ask him directly
6)indicate that u do care/love him...and try to catch same love/caring signals from him..
this will work out as i have advised many girls all these tips. hope it is a help for u. do tell me if it works. hope u get the best man in the world. i think i do deserve 10 points for this answer

Ask him out. See what he's like when it is just the two of you. Maybe go out a couple of times. There is nothing saying you have to "be your boyfriend". Just see what you think of him after a while. Also there is not rush. Take your time and get a feel for what you really want in a relationship and ask yourself one main question here - Does this guy fit that want for a relationship?

well, what's wrong with taking time to figure this out? I mean, do u need to know today? right this minute? Geez... just talk to the guy some more. By talking to him, you'll discover whether or not this is even someone you should be stressing over in the first place.. Just try to have patience. Trust me, i know how hard that is.
