St george never set foot on english soil. The story of george and the dragon is a metaphor. It really refers to him slaying people of other religions.

Dragons are actually members of the Dragon Sovereignty, an ancient bloodline going way back. He killed people with that bloodline.

Dragon = Dinosaur = large animals that we don't have today. Just cause different parts of the world use different words, doesn't mean the creatures change.
