i have a 150lb Bullmastiff puppy with a bad habit of barking untill 4:30am every single night..it got so bad, the downstairs neighbors actually moved out..i love my baby and didnt want to use a shock collar or anything that would hurt him so heres what i did...go down to ur local petsmart or any pet supply store and invest in a bark collar that omits a loud beep when the dog barks..My dog stoped in less than 2 days and now he doesnt even have to have it on, and hes quiet all night..the other thing you need to consider is if your spending enough time with him, many dogs get seperation anxiety and bark cuz they miss you and want your attention..

I would say when it starts barking distract it's attention by throwing a bean bag on the floor and firmly saying no... this will stop the barking. Let a few seconds go by and then praise the dog if the barking has stopped. Be sure to be consistent.

make up a command like "Quiet" and when he is barking loudly grab his mouth and hold it shut while saying quiet. let go of his mouth and if he stops barking give him a treat. this takes a while for most dogs to learn but ussually works out in the long run. consistency is the key

Loud, as in constantly barking? Teach him not to bark, or take him for more walks.

Whenever a dog starts barking try to calm it down. I have a loud dog too but whenever he starts barking I have to pet him and he stops. Sometimes when my dog gets too tired he just stops.

get a shock collar and start out with just making the collar vibrate. it doesnt hurt the dog, it just scares them enough to stop barking.
