The answers you seek are in books that you can buy or borrow. You will not be able to get everything you need to know about puppies out of a yahoo post.
Common, people, off your lazy duffs and do your research!

As far as the cost of the pup, that may vary from breeder to breeder and state to state. You were wise to do your research ahead of time! Usually when it's time to bring a pup home, it has already had some shots, but will get many more in the coming months. Plan on a few hundred dollars total over the first year- 18months for vet care. As far as food, any good quality food should suffice. If you wish to swtich from the brand the breeder was using, introduce the new food slowly, mixing 1/4 new to 3/4 original food. Then a few days later, make it 1/2 n 1/2, and so on until he/she is entirely on the new food. I use the same brand as my breeder, Nutro which when bought in bulk is not so bad ($35.00 for 40lbs). As far as finding a breeder, continue to search the internet. The AKC site has breeder referrals and calssified on their site (see below). Also, check with local vet's who may have contact with some owners of Lakeland's. Good Luck!

You can got to a vet for a lot of those questions. You can also ask the person you are buying it from questions like what kind of food they feed it. You will need toys, food, bowls, a leash, a collar, I.D tags, treats for training him, and maybe even a book.
here's some good websites about them:

U should know to lock cleaning chemicals and human food away from doggy's reach. Also,if u dont want it to do something, dont yell at him, just tap his nose and say no.Also he may need toxocara, ringworm, tick, and flea shots. Also to learn more read "DOGS:dog breeds and dog care" book from borders.
