If so, why the need to be self-righteous, praying and asking for forgiveness for the believers?

Some of you don't understand simple English. I'm asking the rationale why you need to do all those things when you know god has died for your sins and you are going to heaven.

For those of you who believe, if a person killed or rpe your family member, you see him right to go to heaven? C'mon now, don't be a hypocrite.

First of all, I don't believe that Jesus died for our sins because he wasn't our "Savior" (not to offend anyone's religious beliefs) I believe that there is right from wrong and that Jesus wants us to do right. Some of his teachings I honestly believe have been Scud by church leaders and that some of his teachings were rejected. I believe that the whole Crucifixion was something that happened to him because his teachings threatened what the ego driven religious leaders thought. Jesus was spiritual,kind, compassionate, loving etc. they were greedy and power hungry.

Because we are still human and still sin, even though we are forgiven. We ask forgiveness in order to reconcile with God. It's as simple as that. If you do something wrong, don't you ask for forgiveness? Who does that help? It does not really help the person who was wronged, the wrong is still there. It helps you so that you can live with the consequences of your actions. Asking forgiveness from God is for our sake, not His.

He died for the sins of all.
We continue to sin because of our sinful nature, therefore God wants us to continue to confess and ask for forgiveness of these sins even though Christ died for them all. This is just an act of communicating and trying to stay close with God so we can try to live and do His will.

I don't think that you quite understand the atonement of the Savior very well. I love your question though. "I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;
But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I"
Some people out there deny the atonement of Jesus Christ, so they don't receive forgiveness for their sins. The atonement was made for everyone, but you still have to accept it. The atonement is what makes it possible to repent for our sins.

Jesus died for the sins of everyone period, even you. He asked His Father to forgive those who crucified Him because of His love for them. He will give forgive sins of the believers if they ask. Thats the rule and His promise.

we repent every time we sin in humble acknowledgement of our sin and our need for grace. I can only speak for myself but there is nothing self-righteous about it. God is so incredibly good to us, far beyond what we should have the right to expect!

He died for the sins of all mankind. The praying is for the lost. We pray that all see the truth and turn from satan.

Like I said in another answer, Jesus died and rose again, so that His believers can have something to believe in. It's not the death that saves us, it's the belief. We are saved by grace through FAITH.

Jesus got drunk on Last Supper. Since his cronies were such mean drunkards, they dropped him (still boozed out) at the gates of Pilate's Palace, took his money and ran away.

Then he was crucified because he was seen kissing with his pal Judas, and that is gay.
