I second lv. Great abs are made in the kitchen. No matter how many ab exercises you do you will never have great abs if they are hiding under body fat. You must clean up what you are eating in order to get them to pop like you want. Most guys you see with great abs have a very low body fat percentage.

I recently started to clean up my eating and am noticing improvements after about 6 weeks in my abdominal definition. You need to eat smaller meals more often, make sure that each meal contains some amount of protein and fats and limit your carbs to good whole grain slow burning carbs like oats, whole wheat bread and whole grain pastas.

It also helps to periodize the sizes of your meals based on the activities you will be performing. For example, you want to have a larger meal prior to working out than you would after. Fuel your body for what you are about to do rather than replenishing it after.

I think most importantly you must remember that being fit and healthy is a lifestyle, not just something you do for a while to lose some excess weight. You have to commit to healthy eating and exercise. Also, notice how much better you feel or perform in other aspects of life with the healthy lifestyle. It's easy to get focused on the physical side, but you'll find your attitude improve and performance in areas like work or academics.

Best of luck to you!
