I'm not sure the answer to this, but I would like to know the answer from a woman's persepective. I've been in the situation where I have expressed interest in a woman, she said she's not interested in a relationship, then I find out she found someone later on who she's interested in.
I like your question, but I wish I knew the answer too.

The real question you need to ask yourself is do you really like them. Sometimes people say they don't wanna be in a relationship and really think they mean it, but God created us man and women. We are ment for each other and deep down inside you dont really want to be alone. Your brain is saying one thing for whatever reason and your heart is wanting something else. I think that nomatter how much you want to be single you will always have the desire.

I have no idea. I started my relationship with my now husband by telling him that I DO NOT want a boyfriend. He said, "good cuz I don't want a girlfriend either." Yeah we've been together for 4 years now, married for 1.

I think we do it because we have been hurt from a past experience and its a defense mechanism to say that we don't want to be with anyone. Its when we are not overly consumed with finding someone that we do find someone that sparks our interest. You should go for it and see what happens

when your not "looking" for someone, you are probably going to be more confident and comfortable, act more like yourself, not be so cautious in what you say and do....and because you are being yourself, it gives people the opportunity to get to know that real you, which is probably more attractice than any version of yourself you put out when you are "looking"
