My personal preference is to smoke weed. Drinking makes me feel really stupid and you have to deal with the hangover. also if I had to drive drunk, I would be hosed but at least if I really concentrate I can drive stoned. They both have their downside. Alcohol can be physically addicting so if you drink all the time you can go through withdraqwels when you quit, and if you become an alcoholic it ruins your liver, makes you violent and destroys your brain. Even though it is legal, it is probably much more physically damaging than weed.
The down side of getting stoned is you make poor descisions (drinking does that too). Lose your get up and go so you can become a "stoner loser", it puts lots of tar into your lungs and does destroy brain cells. It also screws up your short term memory temporarily.
So neither is really great. I think once in awhile either is ok, but not all the time.

Personally, I chose alcohol. The high from drugs was better, but the come down was much too much for me, and it didn't fit in with my lifestyle. I'm very lucky in that I didn't get hooked on drugs, it could have turned out so very different. I've given up alcohol now too, 12 weeks since my last drink.

It seems we spend our whole life chasing that first high, not realising that nothing is ever as great as the first high. I prefer to get my kicks from healthy things now - exercise and cleaning!

Neither one offers anything that remotely resembles anything I'd say was "better" than the other.

The bottom line is.. being 'high' is, in most cases, illegal.

Getting drunk, albeit legal (for now), also has it's downs as well.

I can't think of a single good thing about either one but I can suggest the one that, at the very least, won't land you in jail for doing it.

this is a badly worded question.

it should be how drunk or how high.
being drunk means more than a few drinks, so i guess the same would have to apply to any drugs you might want to take.

you also failed to didn't specify the drug. hardly a fair question, then.

i'd rather be high than drunk. nobody wants to start a fight because they've been smoking too much...and if they've been munching some beans, everyone's going to be a whole lot happier.

hmmnnn personally, I would say drinking but NOT over drinking it (like an excessive drunk).

My husband says: Both

I personally don't like getting high cuz it gets me madd paranoid and self conscious and later on I feel slow =*(
I hate that. When I was younger it was like nothing but now that I'm older I can't ever do it. I can't function.

Pot is safer than alcohol, but other drugs are more dangerous, and illegal, as is pot. Hard drugs and alcohol carry the risk of dependence, addiction, and alcoholism. But marijuana does not generally destrtoy anyone's life, or force them to a 12-step group or a hospital for rehab.

Well, at least it's still legal to get drunk, as long as you don't drive.

Depends on which one you prefer. Hangovers suck. It's not really safe to be high on anything other than marijuana or prescribed meds.
