I'm not doing this to lose weight, its more of a spiritual thing. So please tell me the truth.

If you fast, you still have to nurish yourself. You can do a juice fast, where you just drink freshly squeezed juices of pure, organic juices. I believe there is a rule that goes something like this:
3 minutes without air, 3 days without water, 3 weeks without food. That is how long your body can go without taking those things in. You can severely damage yourself though by going without. I am not trying to down play your spiritual beliefs. You should procative what you believe in, but do you beleive that God would want you to risk harming your body, to the point where your body is surviving by eating it's own muscle to live?

Follow your plan, but take care of yourself along the way. I beleive fasting is not taking in solid food. So by drinking your food you are still technically fasting.

Probably not, but there are a few things that you should do before you begin a fast...
Make sure that you are in good health- no colds, no cuts, bruises, infections, etc. You should probably go get a physical before you fast. You have to prepare your body. Set a date-say 10 days from now-and slowly change your diet- Go from normal eating to eating more salads and uncooked foods (soup is ok). Take a good multivitamin everyday. Drink lots of water. I would recommend that you allow yourself to drink fruit juices and broth during your fast, because your body needs some kind of nutrition and you HAVE to have fluids. Also, you have to keep your electrolytes balanced. If you don't want to drink juice and broth, then at least allow yourself things like pedialyte or gatorade. Pedialyte is probably better than gatorade as far as having junk in it.
Also, when you break your fast, you will be tempted to eat normally, but don't. You should reverse the process that you did at the beginning, slowly building up to a normal diet. If you start to experience problems while fasting, drink a bottle of ensure or something. If your electrolytes get too out of whack, it can cause heart failure. Be sure to let somebody know that you are fasting, just in case. If you are a very active person, then either plan on less activity, or don't fast. If you start feeling really dizzy during your fast, then have some soup.

Hi, If you have health problems i would not suggest it. However, If you are healthy, there is no reason you cant. I know a preacher that fasted for 40 days. Be sure to drink some juice or something, so that tyou are getting some nutrients. Good luck

Death is likely in multiples of "3." Thirty days without food, three days without water, 3 minutes without air.

Some people can go beyond these limits, but these are good general numbers to remember. If you are only fasting, but drinking fluids, you should be OK.

fasting can also mean living on fruits. but if u r lyk fasting, not eating nething for nearly a week, i can assure u that u would be ravenous by the end and tho u may not die, u could fall seriously ill and even are prone to heart attacks.

You would not die, but you need to drink water every 13 hours or so, but not a lot of it, because it would probably end-up taking out electolytes and causing your brain to cease. My suggestion, eat a "date" fruit at sunrise with a glass of water, and eat a "date" fruit at sunset, with a glass of water. That should keep you from "dying".
