Pretend that you have confidence! It sounds simple, but it really does work.

Whenever I'm nervous or shy I do the complete opposite of what I would normally do.

Get out there!

When I took speech class in college, I was VERY nervous. So I would purposely go first, pretend I was NOT nervous, and I got the highest scores in my entire class. The same thing follows for job interviews and other situations in life when you have to put yourself out there. Just pretend that you are the star in your own personal play. Life.

Remember that we all have strengths and weaknesses. Remind yourself of the things you're good at when you start doubting yourself. Spend time around people who are confident and make you feel positive. Sometimes just acting more confident in a situation will help convince you, and others, that you really are as confident as you appear to be!
