It is a fungus, you will need to rub some Niz shampoo (very lightly) on the areas after showering. The bad thing is that it has eaten your pigments, so it could take a few weeks/months to repair.
I have got it in the past, 3 months before summer I rub the shampoo on my back just in-case it is there. When summer rolls in I have got rid of the fungus.

The body is not a viewable commodity. There is required
vitamin input to have glowing tanned skin. Although the body
has over 10 varieties in the tanning salon designs, only the two
most sea worthy thicker, and fairer skins are by genes made
for that natural leather smooth look. You need change the
priority and add some nutritional schedule to enhance the skin.
Vitamin e foods help though you need to recheck what type
of body balance you want. Could be just a tired week with low
resistance or balance issue. Good luck, I will be at the beach.

Laser. I used to go tanning 3-4 times a week and I have two huge sun spots on my face... You should cover your face when you tan.

I suggest you stop tanning! We were not intended to be darker than the skin color we were born with. You may like the "look" of tanned skin, but the body does not.
Try paint-on tan color. It is also bad for you (Chemicals enter the skin through the pores) but the danger of skin conditions from exposure to darkening lights is changed.
Even those people who are exposed to sunlight day in day out will tell you taht it is better to be covered with clothes during sunny times to protect somewhat the skin.

I haven't tanned in 2 years and I still have mine...along with the reason I stopped tanning - a 2 inch scar on my forearm where a melanoma was removed.
