I am almost 14 years old, and i am very responsible. I would like my nose pierced, i get good grades. and am kind. I would like this very much. I think it looks cute, and im hoping it will raise my self esteem. I am very shy, and have a high tolerence for pain. I do not want any other piercings, and i do not by any means want to look trashy. I do not appreciate the people who think i will go out and get tatoos, and have a young pregnancy. This is what i want and i am aware of the risks, and so is my family. I am way more mature that anyone in my school, and most people say i have the maturity of a 50 year old. Please dont write any "smart" comments as i dont appreciate this. I know what I want and my age may be young but "I" am not.

I'm not meaning to offend you in anyway. Think about how it will affect other people, and think about if you will still want this a couple years from now.

I got my nose pierced when I was about 15 (10 years ago) I subsequently got asked to leave school as I wouldn't take it out. A few years later though I decided not to wear the stud anymore and it has left a scar - well a hole really - that hasn't closed up at all, I really don't like it but have to live with it. It was kinda a fad thing. I do have my tongue pierced and I love that and would never take it out (as another answer also states).
I'm currently visiting India where everyone from about 3 years has their nose pierced and it's not such a novelty.
So just think about the long term. But if you're hoping it will raise your self esteem, think again, as only you yourself can do that, not a diamond stud.

First of all as much as it sucks you have to ask a parent to take you. I had my nose pierced twice actually. I loved it. I had to take it out because I am in the healthcare profession and people dont seem to like it that much. I had my eyebrow pierced didnt care for it. I still have my belly button pierced and i like that I miss my nose piercing. But if your parents say no Im sure they have a good reason for it. I didnt get anythign pierced until i was 18 and when I did I appreciated it more because it was something I had a right to have done myself. But yes I think it is an awesome idea and if you can go for it. I dont think a nose piercing makes you any less of a person or anything of the things you stated. Its all about how you present yourself on a day to day basis not about tatoos or piercings or anything. Go for it

i got my nose peirced when i was 18 and had a lot of people turn their nose up at me. i ended up taking it out for professional reasons. im 26 now and have a tattoo on my arm so now i can not wear anything other than a 3/4 sleeve shirt. i think it would be wise to wait and think about it no matter how mature you are this will be with you for a long time. i do recommend getting something done where no one can see. i have my tounge done and would never take it out!!! i love that one. but it will be hard to get a good good job and look professional with all that stuff on your face. try the tounge or belly instead. best of luck!!

I think if your parents say its okay, then you should do it! I had one for like 3 years when I was 17 and I miss it! I had to take it out when i got my good job, but you cant even tell I had one. There is a tiny little mark which you cant see unless you are right up close. Just make sure you only ever wear a tiny little diamond or soemthing, the big ones look gross and trashy. I always had a little tiny white, pink or blue diamond.
Make sure you are careful when you are drying off your face after a shower though, I pulled mine out like that when it got caught on the towel fibers.

Yes I know I am 14 too and i want my nose pierced but i am having second thoughts because when you go to get a job certain jobs will not hire you because of your nose ring and other jobs may tell you to take your nose ring out and that may cause an infection in your nose.

I like the nostril piercings...I think they range from really cute to very sexy. I have a 14-year old daughter, and a nose piercing is kind of a bargain we have with her, good grades for a year, she can get it done. It's not painful, and if you don't like it, you can always take it out.

I say go for it, I got mine done a few years ago and i have a tiny lil diamond hardly noticeable but its still cute. It did hurt a lil and your eyes water hella bad when they pop in that needle but other then that its a quick piercing and the only one that i have actually kept (i had 5 others). Just dont go for bull rings huge studs as i think they look kinda trashy.
If your parents are def willing to sign for you to get it done then def go for it. Who cares what the kids at your school with think, most likely when you get it done they will realize how cute it looks and then want one for themselves.

do not get your nose periced my friend did it and she regrets it. once they perce it you have to keep a stub in and it looks like a pimple no joke. once you can change it there is a ball at the end and since your hands are to big you have to let the ball go through the hole. my friend has had it for 1 year and still cries everytime she has to put it in or take it out

maybe you should wait a little longer. when i was 12 i wanted to pierce my ears, now i realized that I'm more confident without it and my ears do look prettier without a hot needle through my skin. you should wait till you're 16 coz then you might realized that you might not need it.
p.s. not to offend you or anyone, but imagine how people might look at you. they might think you have a disciplinary case or something.
