When I plug my iPod Nano into the computer, it says I can't update it! It says "The iPod can not be updated, and unknown error has occered" it won't put any of my new songs on my iPod!! This is really irritating, so if you know anything about this problem, could you please give some FACTUAL info?
Thanks!

Possible that the iPod could be corrupted. In which case you'll need to do a Full restore on it which will wipe the ipod completely clean and reinstall the latest firmware. That usually fixes most problems.

Of course you'd lose all the music on it, but if you're doing automatic syncing, then you already have the songs in iTunes, and it'll just resync it all anyway.

You can restore or repair it by clicking the iPod on the source list, and the clicking "restore' on the right.

Try resetting the iPod. Toggle the hold switch on/off a couple of times then hold down the menu and center buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds.

Could be any number of things, start with the basics.

Make sure you've got current version of iTunes and the current firmware on your nano.

this may depend on what generation of ipod u have if u have the newest generation of ipod i don't know?? but if u have an older ipod u are stuck with what u have u kind of have to keep updating itunes on ur computer i think hope this helps, one other thing if u read the maual again depends on what ipod u have there should be a way to erase ur memory and restore factory settings so at that point just go to itunes and download the newest version. hope this heps

I dont know, this never happened to me or to any of my friends. WHat I suggest, or what I would do, is to to plug your iPod into another computer and into that Itunes and let it take all the somngs form there an dthen plug it into your computer and see what happens. Otherwise plug it into anuther computer and get songs form there but I would rcomend to update your iTunes or call Apple on the box of your iPod.
Hope this helps

How is this urgent? Health issues qualify as "urgent".
