in terms of training in the gym. the focus of the power lifter is to move the "load" from point A to point B utilizing both proper form and speed.

the focus of the body builder is to stimulate the target muscle(s) throughout the entire range of motion with sufficient time under tension (TUT) to stimulate hypertrophy. the focus is on heavy eccentric training with a TUT of between 45-60 seconds. so each working set takes 45-60 seconds to complete, with a rep range of between 8-10 reps (each rep takes 6+ secs to complete).

Body builder work on form more and power lifters work on strength....there are similarities...but body builders tend to do more reps with lower weights to help achieve definition. Power lifters do more weight at lower weight to gain strength.,,Plus body builders may do more cardio you help eliminate fat from the body...Power lifters just lift more...how one looks is not important..what one lifts is to the power lifter.
