For Elliot I: The Bible's Creation story is wrong?

Elliot I has said that the Bible's version of creation gives life on earth basically in it's current state, yet the fossil record gives a much different picture.

My question I guess would be "what proof do we have that life is any different?" Since the process known as "mega-evolution" has never been observed and largely contradicts biology, why would rational people accept it?

(My example would be speciation in human beings. When has it ever been observed? I've asked this of evolutionists and have never gotten an answer, we only ASSUME that it happens, and you know what we say about those who assume: that science is not based on assumptions, but upon sound data and observation. Haah! You thought I was going to say something else??)

To all those trying to give me an example of speciation in lower life forms, you're not addressing my point:

Speciation does not happen in human beings, ever. Our systems and organs are far too interconnected, and we can never survive alteration one mutation at a time.

Yes, I actually do have an argument. Evolution must explain the origin of ALL species to be viable, all I have to do is find one that doesn't work, and evolution must adjust.

Leviathan: there are numerous definitions to contend with, and there's no reason for you to argue those without addressing the real point. The definitions that I use are for "micro-evolution", "macro-evolution" and "mega-evolution". The definitions are acceptable to me.

Speciation in human beings would be a relatively new occurance, in the grand scheme of evolution. If the geological world was much different in the past, (more vegetation, earthquakes, volcanic events) there is a greater likelyhood that fossils could be formed, rather than in the current state of the earth where such events are minimal. I take it that you are looking for the missing-link. Well the truth is that the missing link has been found in many different animals (like insects, listed above). The fact that it hasn't been found for Humans or many mammals yet may be in part due to the geological state of the earth, when these animals were prominent.

Speciation in human beings, eh? Sorry, but I'm killing a mosquito here and I'd rather not use a cannon. I don't need to prove that we evolved from anything to disprove biblical creation, I only need to prove that something lived more than six thousand years ago. The indigenous people here in Australia have lived here for over forty thousand years, possibly as long as eighty thousand. Remains of a man at Lake Mungo are generally accepted as being about 40 000 years old, with some estimates ranging from 30 000 to over 60 000. Even if this man was created in his current form by some cosmic power and didn't evolve from anything, his age alone disproves biblical creation.

Speciation of insects has been observed occuring in laboratories. Never mind "mega-evolution" just focus on biological evolution of species-it happens and is proven beyond any doubt so deal with it. If micro-evolution doesn't lead to macro-evolution there has to be a biological mechanism that would prevent it- no mechanism means you have no argument.


Edit- I think you're missing the point. If speciation or "micro-evolution" occurs in one species it occurs in every species-the DNA of a human is no more complex than the DNA of a housefly so if houseflies evolve humans evolve. Different biological rules don't apply to different species which is why we know evolution to be a fact.

To say "if man evolved from apes, why are apes still around?" demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of the evolutionary process. And to say that "Evolution is a Theory not a Fact" demonstrates both a misunderstanding evolution and semantics.

It's like saying "What did people do before the law of gravity was passed?"

And Ray Comfort (above) doesn't know anything about atheism. He conveniently defines an atheist as "one who doesn't believe in God because he's invisible" and then proceeds to point out lots of real things that are also invisible. Thus coming to the conclusion that atheists are illogical and dumb! How completely juvenile.

I don't reject god because I can't see him. I reject god because the idea of a god is completely absurd. The bible is full of errors, contradictions, absurdities, and horrors perpetrated at the command of "god" and in the name of "god". There would be no reason to worship such a "god" even if he did exist.

There's no such thing as 'mega-evolution' you're talking about macro evolution but it certainly doesn't contradict biology - Neo-darwinism is the central theory in all of biology.

The Bible speaks of "kinds" of animals. There have been changes in animals but NEVER has there been a trans_phyla change been observed (reptile to fish, or vice versa or reptile to bird...etc) For example, burros, zebras, ponies and horses are the same type. Just as dogs, wolves, dingoes and coyotes are.They are different species, different in traits and size, color and such but they can interbreed. But you can't cross a horse with an iguana.
Evolutionists base their knowledge an many assumptions but all of their back is always shot down with facts that are undeniable.
There are no transitional specimens of species with partially developed eyes, legs wings, scales and other anatomical parts.
Why don't they open their eyes?

You would have a far greater chance of convincing me that no one invented the Coca-Cola can than you would of convincing me there is no Creator. It's absurd to believe that paint just formed itself into designs on boxes and billboards and coke cans. Even so, it is an insult to provide the idea that everything that is made has no maker. When you see a painting, you don't see the painter, touch the painter, smell, taste, or hear the painter, but the painting is proof that there is a painter. The same applies to a building. So why then do you propose that there is no Creator when you can't see, touch, smell, taste, or hear the Creator, but you have creation to prove He exists? The Bible says in Psalms 14:1,“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
Like the old proverb says, “There is no fool like an old fool.” You have had many years on earth surrounded by God’s creation, and have remained a fool according to the Bible. Napoleon Bonaparte said that “Man will believe anything, as long as it’s not in the Bible.” You as well as many other atheists do very well in proving this as fact. For lack of a God, you use evolution to explain the world.

Then wait for ten years and see if a Mercedes evolves. Try it. If it doesn’t appear, leave it for 20 years. If that doesn’t work, try it for 100 years. Then try leaving it for 10,000 years.

God provided enough evidence in Creation to prove His existence. He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ, to look past your sin and pay for it on the cross. The Bible says He was beaten beyond recognition; you could not even tell he was a human being. All for you. Romans 5:8 tells us, “But God commendeth (showed) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Despite the fact that you openly reject God, He loves you.
If you have read this whole thing and still reject Christ, your blood will be on your own head, not on my hands on Judgment Day. The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” You can no more refute the coming judgment than you can lay on a train track in front of an oncoming train and refute the fact that it is going to run over you. Whether you believe it or not, fact is fact. What if you are right and I’m wrong; there is no God. When you die, you die, end of story. What have I lost? A few good parties, and that’s about all. But, what if I’m right and YOU’RE wrong??? You would spend eternity in a literal, burning hell. Not a state of sleep or purgatory, but a HELL of fire and brimstone. The choice is now yours... Heaven or Hell? Which one for you...
