Well it depends on the type of dog you like. I would suggest a small dog...that's what I got when I lived in an apartment. But I also made the mistake of getting a Parson Terrier. Get a nice calm dog that likes to be around you when your home and won't annoy your neighbors. Try a miniture pomeriamian... they are good dogs. My husband and I just got one. Low matnaince and very polite dogs. Good luck!

First of all make sure they are allowed at the apartment and you might have to pay an extra cleaning deposit once you get permission. If that has been taken care of find a dog under 9lbs they don't need to exercise as much I like Maltese they are the cutest things. I rescued a 10 year old last year and it hardly sheds and has a great disposition.

get a small dog, make sure of the size restrictions though before you get one so that way you are in now way getting one that is too big by mistake. you may want to try your local humane society or ASPCA for a good dog that deserves a second chance at a loving home.

I own a shih-tzu. It can be house trained to go on newspaper and it loves to be around people. It always want's to be around someone so a smaller house could be useful that way you can keep the dog locked up and it won't feel lonely.

easy question easy answer-none. apartments r 2small 4dogz! they need room 2run around and play w/o being yelled at 2settle down cuz they jump, run, or bark and thats 2hard if u live in a complex or an upstairs/downstairs place. try something smaller like a cat or ferret

I think the best dogs for apartments are pomeranians,chiuauhuas, mini pin,pekenise, yorky terriers, pugs, shih tzu, small poodles. just to name a few. I have a pomeranian and i love her to death she is so good and so sweet! hope that helps you out!

Dachshunds are best for apartments. My Jake is the best. The dachshund breed is small and are agile enough to be self sufficient for getting where they want to be in your place.

Don't necessarily cast off the bigger dogs, because of their size. Some adapt to apt. life very well.

a teacup poodle. they are potty trained very easily love attention and love to jump around. if your looking for a high energy dog. lol. i have one just like it. but it likes small spaces too.
