There is a correlation with outbursts. The kids have a problem with impulse control so if they do get angry and frustrated, they blow up. They also tend to react with anger when they feel ovewhelmed or surprised with someone else's frustration or anger. If she is taking a stimulant (esp. Adderall) talk with her doctor right away. My husband was taking Adderall and freaked flat out one day. My friend's son did the same thing. They both went completely psychotic and violent. It took 4 guys to get my friend's son off of her and my husband is faing domestic violenc charges for trying to break my nose. Neither of these two are violent by nature and this was really out of the ordinary for them both.
Give your daughter plenty of space to collect herself, if she is so angry that she is just yelling and can't listen, give her some time. Tell her (or yell it if you have to) "We can't discuss this until you are calmer. Take a break!" Don't excuse this behavior even if the ADHD or the meds are the cause, she is and can be responsible for her actions. Make sure she knows that. She will not be excused by anyone outside her family and school so she needs to learn there are consequences for these outbursts.

Anger is not a direct symptom of ADHD but this may be something you should bring up with the diagnosing doctor. My brother was diagnose ADHD when he was 6 and was on meds until he was 15. Good luck!

anger is common because there is so much frustration associated with adhd. Frustration with learning. Frustration with others not understanding the characteristics of adhd. Frustration with the characteristics of adhd being misunderstood as being bad behavior which it is not - kids are just wired with impulsivity.
Often if the issues surrounding adhd Once the issues of adhd are addressed the anger subsides.

I would think there would be a coorelation between the two. It is hard for a child to control their temper even without any other behavorial issues let alone with ADHD. I have worked with ADHD children and many had anger issues and inappropriately dealt with them. A counselor at your daughters school could refer you to a program to help your childs anger issues.

Core symptoms of ADHD include impulsivity, inattention, and hyperactivity. Typically, children with this disorder have significant difficulties in the school setting, including behavioral and academic problems, difficulties in interpersonal relationships and low self-esteem. ADHD is commonly associated with other disabilities such as oppositional defiant disorder; anxiety and depression; conduct disorder; and learning disabilities or speech impairments.
