and i have a 2 year old pug already....its seems that there are times when they play, lightly, and it gets more intense with time...but there are times...when the husky, out of no-where...will give a quick nip to my pug...right now the husky is too small to really make any kind of impact...but is this somethnig that should be strongly corrected, or is this just a possible passing phase?...

It does need to be corrected, but it is a passing phase. all pups nip. But they do need to know to do it easy. Your pug is probably allready teaching this to the husky so do not interfer with your pugs disapline only with the husky.

I have two huskies now and have always had huskies - How old is the pup? Most likely he's too young to be asserting dominance already. Huskies nip at other dogs to get them to play. Husky play also looks wore than it is sometimes. Older huskies often grab each other (or other dogs) by the back of neck where there is extra skin. It's not a problem unless they bite down or grab onto the dog and try to shake it. That needs to be corrected. I completely agree with the person who told you to use the command "EASY" or you can use "WHOA", but it's all in how you say it. Whatever word you choose, drag it out rather than an abrupt command (like "NO" should be) and sort of interrupt the play by petting them or putting some space between them until the husky pup relaxes a little bit. Don't go with "NO" unless you want him to completely stop what he's doing b/c you don't want to teach him that he can't play without getting in trouble. While huskies generally aren't good with little dogs, cats or other small animals, in my experience pugs are sturdy and have enough attitude to hold their own especially if the husky grows up with the pug. Let them play and work it out, they will. Just keep and eye on them.

Husky pup nipping is NORMAL and there is not really anything but LOADS of time and corrections that will break the habit.
Husky is a breed that tends to play OFTEN using it's mouth (like a hand). It's called mouthing. They tend to want to hold everything they can in their mouths and the teeth are just a natural part of the holding.
When the pup does this to you or the pug, give it the command "EASY". this goes for ANYTHING from toys to food objects.in time it will learn that the nipping is not nice and it will decrease but stopping it outright is not likely. Good luck

I have owned huskies for many years. They are a highly pack orientated breed. Your dog is asserting her dominance over the pug. This will not stop easily. As the Husky grows up it will continue to assert her role in your pack.

Obedience training is very important for this breed. You must establish yourself as leader. You also must make certain that the husky doesn't hurt the pug. It is a very difficult thing for a husky to except smaller animals..especially cats.

I strongly urge you to get a trainer.

and remember, "a good dog is a tired dog", so exercise your husky alot...even introduce a harness a a pull sled...it is there nature, and she will astonish you with her strength.

Good Luck!

I agree..it is a passing phase but it also needs to be firmly corrected. Husky's instincts can take over and they can see small dogs, cats and other animals as prey. A strong, "NO!" and removal of the husky from the pug for a few minutes (like a mini time out) will get the message across. He'll learn quickly - that's the bonus of dealing with a puppy. ♥

correct it now..huskies are working pack dogs so your pup is already showing that its the dominate one..and if you allow this to happen and your in the room the pup will take it as you are below the dog too.

your dogs are most likely trying to be dominant over one another. you will see them fight for a week or two until one is declared dominant. its natural for all dogs. as long as it doesn't get violent just let them be and they will sort it out on their own. when they fight keep a close eye on them. you don't want to let them hurt eachother
