I can't stand the ignorance and stupidity of believers. How can they be so blind? How can they not question their extremely absurd beliefs? Do they secretly hide their doubt? I hope so, because I can't imagine someone being so blind as to not even question their idiotic beliefs. Why do you believe they hold these ludicrous beliefs?

Gosh Oshihana, even with the warning "Non-believers Only" you will still be assaulted by those bible-toting believers! I've seen it happen here many times. I am also not stupid and blind, since I have seen it from the other side too. Their beliefs are not absurd or idiotic to them, yes they do hide their doubts, but they also think non-believers are blind too. In my humble opinion, there are many questions that go unanswered by Religion and Science, but the whole point of both is to make our lives here and now better - threatening a disbeliever with "You'll burn in hell" does not achieve this.

What would seem ludicrous to you may not be to others. I don't judge you differently because you're a girl...

Why on earth would you call an entire set of people stupid and ignorant because they don't believe the same as you? I dare say you know very little about me.. be careful you're showing just how smart you are!

I would suggest you hang out in a different section of yahoo forums, obviously the Religion section does not agree with you.

God forbid those stupid Christians get out and move to other yahoo sections. What well we do then? Better keep them here before you get infected.

I know you only want non believers but I'll be honest. I love the bible it's the greatest story man has ever wrote. Just think a book with love, passion, bloody battles and most importantly blind faith. I don't know what is out there for all of us but maybe one day we will find out. Maybe when we die we do go to heaven. Or after we are dead that is all " nothing " just good plant food. Don't say you don't believe in anything cause if that were true then. You wouldn't have a job, a roof over your head and clothes or food or the computer your looking at right NOW! We all believe in something even if it is just ourselves. So I ask what is it that you believe in? That thing that makes you get out of bed and smile!

Fear, they realise that if they start to question what they believe they will have nothing to believe. the fear of not having a single thing which you can believe in is a truly teriifying thought so they stick there heads in the sand, don,t question and hope for the best. in some ways you have to feel sorry for people that do not have the courage to actually disagree with dogma.

I suggest you take a course in social psychology to learn about, and understand the dynamics of belief systems and how they have evolved over time. Respect and understanding of a system can lead to working together despite not agreeing on how the world works.

Its very hard to disregard something that has been taught to you since you were born. Especially when it concerns eternal existence. It is A LOT easier to ignore conflicting reality when there is a chance at loosing your eternal soul.

Why take a chance at being wrong when all you have to do ignore science and perhaps go to heaven. I don't blame them, its the ones that feel the need to prostlitize their Faith and Belief on the rest of society that get me upset.

Deists, if you are going to convince me that you are blessed with the only truth for eternal life, please do so AFTER deeply questioning your belief system. I always feel guilty being put in a position of "Faith buster" when confronted by Deists that don't have a better reason for their belief than personal experience.

PROOFS AND EVIDENCES OF THE EXISTENCE OF GOD

One of the proofs and demonstrations of the existence of God is the fact that man did not create himself: nay, his creator and designer is another than himself.

It is certain and indisputable that the creator of man is not like man because a powerless creature cannot create another being. The maker, the creator, has to possess all perfections in order that he may create.

Can the creation be perfect and the creator imperfect? Can a picture be a masterpiece and the painter imperfect in his art? For it is his art and his creation. Moreover, the picture cannot be like the painter; otherwise, the painting would have created itself. However perfect the picture may be, in comparison with the painter it is in the utmost degree of imperfection.

The contingent world is the source of imperfections: God is the origin of perfections. The imperfections of the contingent world are in themselves a proof of the perfections of God.

For example, when you look at man, you see that he is weak. This very weakness of the creature is a proof of the power of the Eternal Almighty One, because, if there were no power, weakness could not be imagined. Then the weakness of the creature is a proof of the power of God; for if there were no power, there could be no weakness; so from this weakness it becomes evident that there is power in the world. Again, in the contingent world there is poverty; then necessarily wealth exists, since poverty is apparent in the world. In the contingent world there is ignorance; necessarily knowledge exists, because ignorance is found; for if there were no knowledge, neither would there be ignorance. Ignorance is the nonexistence of knowledge, and if there were no existence, nonexistence could not be realized.

It is certain that the whole contingent world is subjected to a law and rule which it can never disobey; even man is forced to submit to death, to sleep and to other conditions -- that is to say, man in certain particulars is governed, and necessarily this state of being governed implies the existence of a governor. Because a characteristic of contingent beings is dependency, and this dependency is an essential necessity, therefore, there must be an independent being whose independence is essential.

In the same way it is understood from the man who is sick that there must be one who is in health; for if there were no health, his sickness could not be proved.

Therefore, it becomes evident that there is an Eternal Almighty One, Who is the possessor of all perfections, because unless He possessed all perfections He would be like His creation.

Throughout the world of existence it is the same; the smallest created thing proves that there is a creator. For instance, this piece of bread proves that it has a maker.

Praise be to God! the least change produced in the form of the smallest thing proves the existence of a creator: then can this great universe, which is endless, be self-created and come into existence from the action of matter and the elements? How self-evidently wrong is such a supposition!

These obvious arguments are adduced for weak souls; but if the inner perception be open, a hundred thousand clear proofs become visible. Thus, when man feels the indwelling spirit, he is in no need of arguments for its existence; but for those who are deprived of the bounty of the spirit, it is necessary to establish external arguments

Because I firmly believe that everyone is allowed to believe whatever they want because it's their life. In the grand scheme of things, how does someone believing in God really affect you? It doesn't. Unless it's messing up your paycheck or sleeping with your spouse, I wouldn't worry about it. Not everyone on this planet thinks like you and that's ok. Learn to let it go. Pick your battles wisely. This ain't one of them. You don't want someone calling you names for the stuff you hold true, don't do it to them. It's called treating others the way you'd like to be treated. Interesting concept, I know.

Now, if it's a weirdo fundie who is screaming at you, laugh and walk away. That's the best thing you can do. Screaming back just makes you look psycho too.

Many secretly hide their doubt. I know, because I secretly hid my doubt for decades, until one day I stood up and said, "NO!"

You would be surprised how many ministers and priests no longer believe, but continue their work because they don't know what else to do.

Many more actually do believe. Why? Because one of the conditions of believing is to not question your beliefs. You are not supposed to understand the contradictions in the Bible. Only God can understand them. God is Magic.

As a believer... (I know, this question is for non-believers but whatever), my best advice is to see things from our point of view. Our faith is what has been taught to use and proven true in some way or another in our life our someone close to us. We are not ignorant or stupid...we choose to believe in something/someone that most of us have probably not seen physically before. That is our faith. And personally, I have questioned my faith but I get answered from my Pastor and the Bible. Believers are just that...we Believe that there is more to this world than what is just there.
