My best advice to you is to go to www.catfancy.com and look up the breed. All the info. will be there. PLUS, if your hubby is anything like me (I thought I was allergic to all cats and could never have one)--not true. MY biggest "offender" (and I love 'em--great personalities ans very lovable) is the standard gray/black tiger-striped tabby cat. I cannot be anywhere around this breed. Other than this, I have had VERY GOOD luck with all my cats. Good luck to you, your hubby & a new kitty.

If you get the short-haired one and his allergies aren't too bad.
you should groom any breed as often as possible, (I use a grooming glove and my cats love being groomed!)
I have a daughter who is allergic and she was fine with ours.
The Russians shed as much as most other breeds but a Rex or Siberian would be better.
I love the blue and had my last girl 18 years.

My mother had a pure bred Russian Blue and they are the best choice in breeds because they dont have cat hair they have fur.

I know someone who is allergic to cats (sneezes/runny nose). Whatever the breed of cat! Has a beautiful persian cat himself - wouldn't trade him for the world - accepts it the way it is!!

My russian blue sheads like crazy, but my mom has alergies. She just keeps the cat away from where she sleeps, and washes her hands after petting her.

No, try a purebred Siberian, that is what I tried for my mom and she has very serious allergies and it worked fine, Also you can try a Devon Rex which is cheaper than a Siberian which is around 1000 dollars.

if your hubby is allergic to cat hair, then no cat will be ok unless you get one shaved.
