Most hospitals and some nursing homes have CNA classes so you should not have to go to college. These classes prepare you to take the CNA exam. To be an LPN you will have to go to a technical school although there may be some hospital programs still around. Then you will take a state board exam.CNA takes just a few weeks, LPN takes an entire year but pay is twice as much or more than a CNA.Good luck in whatever you decide. Both are very rewarding.

The LPN brings in more money. The community college offers it, and it can be done in a year full-time. CNA takes less time and can be located at the community college or ask a nursing home or hospital where the CNAs trained.
