The first thing you need to do is find out what kind of cat food he really likes. Soft, hard, flavors? That will bring up his weight until you can't feel his ribs unless you try to or pick him up. You need to spend plenty of time with him, maybe get some kitty toys with bells and shake them to entertain him or something. Pretty much just make sure you know where he is so he doesn't go anywhere where he could get hurt. Give him plenty of attention, and make sure to get that weight up! Good luck hun!

I dont think you want him to suffer and plus he probalby adores you. There are special types of food you can get to help gain weight for him. most of them are at the vet but you dont have to take him there. Go to the vets office tell them you have a under wight cat and can't afford the vet bill and ask for something like Max cal or nutra cal it is made just for that purpose. Plus science diet makes some food for that purpose, and so dose purina. Read the bag and check out you local pet store.
I use to be a vet tech and I saw plenty of animals that I thought personally needed to be put down. The doctor I worked for never forced the owner abou it either. Maybe you need to call around and talk with a local vet tech about you situation. So they can converse witha doctor. You never know he might take you cat as a patient and not bring up putting it to sleep.

I am so sorry- what a horrible situation to face. Becuase we love our cats so much, we don't want to hear a vet telling us there is nothing more they can do, BUT as our cat's owner AND protector, we also have to know when it is time. You want what is best for your cat, and if your cat is in pain and/or suffering in any way, you should at least have the vet check your kitty out and see if there is anything that can be done to help your cat. A vet cannot just put your cat to sleep, they have to have your permission. BUT, at least YOU would know that you tried everything possible first rather than just making him selfishly suffer to an uncomfortable passing. Good luck, my thoughts are with you. :)

Taking him to the vet doesn't mean they'll put him down. If you care for your cat then you want him to have the best quality of life, right? Please let a vet check him out & make some recommendations. Remember, you are the owner and your wishes will be followed, but you should make an informed decision by having as much input as possible, especially from an expert.

A vet can only RECOMMEND for your cat to be put down. They can't do it without your permission. They might be able to give you something in terms of a supplement if you mean that your cat isn't eating. (And they could give you some ideas on how to deal with this.)
Your cat may not be eating because he's trying to put himself down. Animals tend to know when they're not in good shape and a lot of times they'll do that in a way to speed up the process. It's hard but sometimes the best and easiest thing for them is what would hurt you the most.
Good luck to you and your poor cat.

I am sooooo sorry to tell you this but you are going to have to take your cat to the vet. The may put him down but would you rather him go through life suffering and in pain or would you rather just stop the suffering, take him to the vet, and let him die painlessly and in peace. I know it is hard. But if he is in pain, and there is nothing anyone can do for him the right thing to do would be to put him to sleep. I am sooo sorry. I hope everything turn out okay!

He sounds pretty bad off. How long has he been like this? Will he eat? Drink? It sounds like he has been poisoned and is dying. Your best bet is to take him to a vet THIS MINUTE! The vet can't put him down without your permission, but can help him not to be suffering so much.

Put him down, I know that you love him, I love my babygurl too, but If she was blind deaf and walked in circles all day, I would go ahead and put her down so she want be misserable anymore, wait a few weeks or months to get over it and find you a new kitten or puppy.

Okay, well you can start feeding him more often, Get some kind of leash so that he won't walk in circles, and I don't know what to do about him being deaf.
Good Luck! â¥â¥

You're going to have to take him to a vet, not to get put down because that is unfair, did you try a vet yet, if not then you should because you don't know what they might do, if so then I don't know what to tell you, do you want your cat to die, then your going to have to take him to a vet anyways.
