i can buy some of these tablets on line, they say it will help me lose weight, is this true.

Nope it is a scam.....you lose weight one way...burn more calories than you take in.....pills do not help you do that....they only help you lose weight in the wallet.

I'm not sure if it'll make you lose weight but it is extremely dangerous. If your doctor won't prescribe you these tablets then there is a genuine reason - i.e. that your thyroid gland is working fine. Unless your need to lose weight stems from an underactive thyroid (which your doctor will be able to find out for you) then you'll need to stck to good old-fashioned exercise and healthy eating unless you'd like a heart attack or permanent damage to your thyroid gland.

I can confirm with you that is DOES NOT allow you to lose weight unless you have an actual Thyroid problem. I am taking thyroxine myself for suppressive therapy as i have a cyst on my left gland and my right gland was removed. I thought for sure if i doubled up on them it's be GREAT and I'd lose weight.. WRONG! i actually gained 8 lbs in 3 months, . Keeping a good diet and excise plan, not only that but i started feeling REALLY wierd.. SO no it doesn't work.. Sorry : (

no. if there were a pill we could take to make us thin, why would there be any fat people? if something actually worked, it would be huge news all over the headlines. There is no secret pill out there that 5 people know about.
Cut your calories, and exercise. That's how you lose weight. Why is everyone so unable to accept this???
Plus, the pill you are talking about is a supplement for people that have underactive thyroid glands. So yes, it wil help people with this condition lose weight, because their body isnt making it naturally like yours is. If you take this without a need, it is toxic and could kill you.

No. It is dangerous.
The only way they will make you lose weight is if you have an underactive tyroid gland and have gained weight because of that. If you suspect this might be the case then go to see your GP to get it confirmed, but DO NOT take drugs without medical advice. Its dangerous and stupid.

Thyroxine is like a prescription medicine for people with underactive thyroids!
I would NOT reccommend taking it, you could get very ill.
There is only one way to lose weight and keep it off .. lifestyle change for eating less and exercising more.
