How was God driving out the peoples of the land.. He was using the strength of the tribes of Israel to do this work. When their faith faltered their ability to take the land was lowered. Here it says that it couldn't be done.. I know it doesn't say it here but in all other passages it does confirm that nothing could stand before them when they were trusting God.. I contend their faith slipped and there were fearful because of the more advanced weapons of the people of the valley.... Jim

Actually, it's saying that God was only with Judah when he could win.

"And the LORD was with Judah; and he drove out the inhabitants of the hill-country; for he could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron. "

The Lord was with Judah when he drove out the inhabitants of the hill-country, but Judah couldn't drive out the inhabitants of the valley so the Lord said, "I only pick the winning team, sorry."

First of all,you Christian bashing hate mongering fool,it is LORD not lod and also it is GOD not go.
Obviously, you didn't read the whole thing just picked out something to critcize the Word of God about.
Only a fool such as you would do such a thing as to critcize and bash the Word of God like that because you choose not to believe.
Can't you see how degenerate and foolish that makes you out to be regardless if you care or not?

In closing,God is not powerless but the verse of scriptures that you foolishly questioned was about the people of Judah and the Lord was with them which meant they had faith in God but the the enemy was too strong for them to overcome.

Even though you choose not to believe at least you can do is read more carefully and try to understand it more before you get on here or anywhere else criticizing the Word of God because otherwise your accusations and opinions about it is just plain stupid.

It doesn't say God was powerless, it says that Judah couldn't drive the inhabitants out. Stop trying to twist an interpretation to make a theological question up.

That shows that bible was not inspired by god and it is not his words at all. In some place he says even the hair that falls from your head is counted or the death of a sparrow is known to him in other place he is scared of iron chariot???

The Lord was with Judah, yes, but not actually fighting. it was the Israelites that were doing the fighting, they were the ones who could not a thing against the iron chariots.

I'm not sure if it meant Judah couldn't drive them out or not but I'm sure it was because of unbelief. They always lost battles when someone didn't have enough faith. God is definitely all powerful though.

I don't know. Seeing as how he made iron it seems that
would not scare him too much. I wonder if God is also
scared of Hummers? What about tanks? hmmm
maybe the Antichrist has thought of this, lol.

God couldn't because His people were showing a lack of confidence in His ability to deliver.
God could have easily done it on His own, but He was working through the Israelites and they showed themselves scared.
A parallel account has Joshua saying:
"A numerous people you are, and great power is yours. . . " Joshua 17:17.
But they did not wish to avail themselves of that power due to fear.

Umm... Iron is God's kryptonite?

I wear an iron hat so God can't read my thoughts.
