oh, would you be willing to actually do that? Remember you would get very little thanks for it. Most people will ridicule you and very few would give you any credit. You better think that over. Not to mention the actual pain and suffering.

Wouldn't work anyway. The Cross only has meaning because Jesus took the role of Redeemer Kinsman, paying a life for a life. Since He is God Incarnate, His Death is worth the lives of every creature in the universe and then some. That's not the case with the FSM OR Jim D. And Jesus DID die for those who believe and disbelieve. The difference is, disbelievers reject the offer of salvation. If you don't open your christmas gift, you don't get to play with it.

"The Roman practice of crucifixion was likely adopted from Carthage, and was used for slaves, rebels, pirates and especially-despised enemies and criminals. Therefore crucifixion was considered a most shameful and disgraceful way to die. Condemned Roman citizens were usually exempt from crucifixion (like feudal nobles from hanging, dying more honorably by decapitation) except for major crimes against the state, such as high treason.
The Romans used it for the crimes of piracy, highway robbery, assassination, forgery, false testimony, mutiny, high treason and rebellion. Notorious mass crucifixions followed the Third Servile War (the slave rebellion under Spartacus), the Roman Civil War, and the destruction of Jerusalem."
Of course, people are no longer crucified now, so I think you're out of luck.

Why would you have to die to pay the price? Couldn't we enact a new way for you to pay the price for Jim Darwin believers? Like....eat a piece of cake.

Jesus dies for the sins of the whole world, whether you belive in Him or not. However, your belief in Him is where you find salvation, not in the fact that He died.
His death gave us something to belive in. And now because of our belief in that death, we allow God to change the way we life, and live according to His teachings, so that He can be glorified on this earth.
Long story short (so I can answer your question), Jesus dying for the sins of the WORLD sits very well with me and my theology. Grace & Peace.

I believe in your right to die. we all do someday. I don't really want to crucify you though as there are so many more deserving candidates. In the meantime I think I will stick to my current religion but thanks for the offer. You are quite thoughtful and you humor as not nearly as derogatory as that of some other atheists.

Seems a bit drastic. Couldn't you just stub your toe really hard for the sins of others? Save all that sitting around waiting to be resurrected. You KNOW that's a non-starter...

Can you live a sinless life? If not, then you are simply dying for you own sins.
And, oh yea, can yopu return from the dead too? I would follow you if you could figure that one out.

Oh Jim.... I don't want you to do that. I can deal with my own problems. You don't have to make a blood sacrifice of yourself for me.
