He is super aggressive to strangers... I have no clue how to fix the problem. I've been to training, behavioralists and doggy day care... nothing seems to work. After he knows the stranger for five minutes he will sit in their lap and love them to death... I don't get it... Any ideas?

When someone comes to the door, put him on a leash and just have the person ignore him. Maybe your dog thinks the person is going to hurt him, so the person ignoring your dog shows that hes not interested. Also, give your friends some treats and when they come in your house have them give your dog a treat, (or lay one down next to your dog if he doesnt let people near him).

I think the good thing here is that after 5 minutes, your dog is fine! That is a good sign.

Also try to reassure him and tell him everything is okay.
A book I would suggest buying is Sit Stay Fetch.

You can even email them and they will help you to solve your dogs problem! (I have and with the training they suggested and time, my dog is alot better)

Good luck with everything!

sounds as though aggression inst the problem......he sounds super protective of his turf......I'm not sure what you can do about that if you have been to training and behaviorists and doggy day care.....he may just be protective.....keep a leash handy when you answer the door and make sure that he knows that you have said that it is okay that the people are there......good luck

That's the Aussie in him. They are very loyal to their owners and are often aggressive or shy towards strangers - He's just trying to protect you.

If he starts being aggressive, keep telling him "It's OK" and introduce the stranger slowly.
