Male cat, just got neutered. He cries so much. Everytime I turn around he is crying. I have made sure that the food/water are filled, litter box is cleaned. But he cries so loud. He was neutered about 3 weeks ago.
Any ideas?

I agree with calling the vet to see if he might need to come in for some complication from the surgery.
I am also wondering if he is left alone at night. My cats when they where young needed lots of contact. I usually let them sleep with me.
In addition, if he is a new cat for you the food might not be what he is used to and he won't eat enough to curb his hunger.

Before taking him to the vet, unless money isn't an issue, I'd take a look a the incision. Look to see if it's red, puffy, oozing, or smells bad. Since he was neutered 3 weeks ago, the incision should be all closed up by now. Is he still using his litter box? Is he eating and drinking his normal amount? If there seems to be anything wrong I'd take him into the vet.
Otherwise, my male cat goes through phases where he cries at night too. He'll only stop if I'm petting him continually, which doesn't work out when I'm trying to sleep. I'd play with him for about 1/2 an hour before you went to bed, that might help to wear him out. Also, if you can put him in another part of the house, or the garage at night that might help.

We have 3 cats, and our oldest male does the same thing. Sometimes he does it because he wants to be picked up and cuddled; but most of the time I suspect he's singing. After all-- when you have such a beautiful voice it would be a crime not to share it with the world! Seriously though, even though he sounds forlorn, he is almost always in a happy mood when he sings. Our female does it too, but not as much. I think it's really cute, but maybe not so cute at 3am! Since this is new behavior, and since he's not eating well, if you think that your cat may be sick or injured, I strongly urge you to take him to the doctor. But if you are confident that he's okay (just noisy), I recommend ear plugs at night. If this is not an option, perhaps there is somewhere else--like a garage or shed--that he can spend the night. He is in pain. Take him back to the vet. He may have an infection or urinary tract difficulties as a result of the neuter. Like a baby that cries and is in a dry diaper, wont take a bottle, then most likely they are sick.

Just take him back to a vet to see what the problem is. If it was 3 weeks ago and the cat is just now crying there is something wrong.

He just wants attention or food. He may be feeling lonely or something since when animals get fixed their personality changes. My cat cried alot when he got nuetered too...don't worry about it.. he will stop eventually

he may want outside... Our cat did that for weeks and it about drove us crazy! Finally we let him go outside... he ran around for a couple hours and then came back in... it's really cold here... so he doesn't want to go out much anymore...lol... but at least he doesn't scream anymore!
